Psychological First Aid Kit
be healthy, enjoy your life and be support for others
Mental Self-Defense and Self-care
How to protect yourself from others’ heaviness and negativity? How to jump off the roller-coaster of other persons emotions? How to stop guilt trips and start to set healthy boundaries and to respect yourself?
Has it ever happened to you that after a short time of being with someone or somewhere, you started to feel tired, upset and heavy? Can you say NO to energetical vampires, especially when they are your nearest and dearest? Do you feel bad cause you’re worried that you are not good, nice, caring and understanding enough? Do you know how to end conversation with someone very negative or just boring? Do you happen to live according to someone else’s expectations?
Goals for this module:
- Learn to fight for and care about yourself
- Be able to say “Thank you! That’s yours, not mine”
- Know how to react and what helps, what not
- Understand the dance of a victim and offender
- Learn to protect yourself against the flooding of someone’s negative emotions, emotional blackmails or energetical vampires
Support others in their emotional crisis or when they have a worse day
How quickly and effectively support people in crisis, those suffering or just having a bad day? Feel confident, comfortable, safe and know how to react and support!
How many times it happened to you to talk with a close person, or a client who was in the middle of life crisis, suffered a lot or just had a bad day? What to tell them, what to advice, how to react? Stereotypical “Don’t worry, everything will be alright” doesn’t help, on the contrary it triggers frustration among those who suffer and a feeling that no one understands them.
We will explore efficient ways of support and new ways of understanding of things that happens to us in our lives:
- The way we see and interpret what happens to us
- The way we act: our thoughts, emotions and actions
Goals for this module
- Gain self confidence and be a source of support for your nearest and dearest, coworkers, and clients HERE AND NOW.
- Feel confident and be able to talk with a person crisis in calm and constructive way
- Be able not to engage emotionally and to protect yourself from getting infected with negative emotions
- Better understand the nature of crisis and intensive feelings of humans
- Know how to react, what works what doesn’t
Practice your new skills
On the workshop, we will devote lots of time to practice self-care and supporting others. Through various case studies and role plays, participants will have a chance to put into action of what they just learnt, under supervision of experienced counsellor.
We will work on fundamental counselling skills (listening, asking right questions, paraphrasing etc.). Also some of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques will be taught.
